*Key:

NOTE: This listing only includes the 50 communities that are at the lower end of the state's demography, Challenged Massachusetts. Districts that do not fit this definition are not evaluated in this Appendix.

COMB OVERSCORE CHAL xxxx 98-00 is the Combined Overscore on all three MCAS administrations for the relevant Grade/Subject tests.
(For example, ELA4 refers to the Grade 4 English Language Arts Tests for 1998, 1999, and 2000.)

COMB OVERSCORE CHAL xxxx 98-00 is the difference between the demographically-predicted score and the actual district MCAS scores for all tests, all administrations. The higher the Combined Overscore, the more a district exceeded its demographic characteristics.
